The most exciting beauty pageant has come again. There seems truly nothing better and bigger than Bb Pilipinas pageant. For me who have been following the pageant since I was a kid, the pageant’s become more exciting every year. This has been evident in the turn out of people going to the pageant’s events such as the fashion show, talent showdown, parade of beauties, and ultimately during finals night.
Here are the top charmers during the parade of beauties where we saw the ladies up close and personal. This list in fact validates my thoughts of them before the parade.
Drilling further, in international pageants there has to be a profile of that winning package per pageant. It should not mean sending just anyone.
Truly this is the time of the year when pageant enthusiasts get craziest. It’s Bb Pilipinas coronation night happening tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum come 8pm.
The BBPilipinasGOLD beauties were truly accomplished and successful having won two of four international crowns. 2013 Miss International title was won by Bea Rose Santiago. 2013 Miss Supranational crown was won by Mutya Johanna Datul. Ara Arida placed 3rd runner up in the 2013 Miss Universe pageant while Cindy Miranda placed finalist in the 2013 Miss Tourism Queen international quest.
Kudos to the BbPilipinasGOLD beauties for such remarkable wins. You all made us very happy given your accomplishments.
The known Miss Universe Formula
Now that this pageant amorous Philippines has kind of come up with the so-called winning formula to making it to the Miss Universe runner up spot year after year given the high placements and recent successes of Venus Raj, 2010 4th RU, Shamcey Supsup, 2011 3rd RU, Janine Tugonon 2012 1st RU and Ara Arida, 2013 3rd RU. Now for sure we are up for the biggest challenge, which is to finally clinch the Miss Universe crown.
Recent trend has it that the crowned Miss Universe is someone who has an overall commercial appeal, a pretty good spokesperson, statuesque, has a versatile look, to quite an extent naive and less pageant patty, etc.
My previous blog was about the 8 Attributes of an Excellent miss universe Philippines. Here’s the link: https://carloocarloo.wordpress.com/2014/02/21/eight-attributes-of-an-excellent-miss-universe-philippines-by-carlo-tenerife/
Given the 40 candidates in the 51st Bb Pilipinas edition here are the twelve candidates I confidently believe are Miss Universe material and as such can also do very well in the other four international pageants. I set the standard using the Miss Universe system because this pageant is relatively easier to predict, has the clearest judging system, etc. In my Miss Universe prediction last year I was able to hit 12/15 and 4/5 after preliminary. You may refer to my blog entry about it. Here’s the link https://carloocarloo.wordpress.com/2013/11/09/will-miss-philippines-ara-arida-win-2013-miss-universe/
Given more training, media exposures, better wardrobe, the road to the Philippines’s 3rd Miss Universe crown would seem smooth and thus achievable.
Here are my TOP 12.
My final prediction basis is the cumulative effect of pageant exposures and a lot of gut-feel. I ranked the ladies by the title I believe would be perfect for them.

Good luck to all the candidates of the 51st Bb Pilipinas. May the best ones win tonight!
Truly one of my favorite Bb Pilipinas winners in 2012 would be Katrina Jayne Rivera Dimaranan. From the Aces and Queens’ mock pageant that is even before the official 2012 Bb Pilipinas pageant, it felt like a winner was born in the making. At young 19 then, I like her vivaciousness, and candidness that is on top of her dusky morena look, statuesque 5’9″ height, etc.
Came 2012 Bb Pilipinas coronation night justified were my forethoughts of her. She clinched the Bb Pilipinas Tourism crown and she certainly had a good year of reign. But like many others I still wish that she be sent to compete and represent our pageant amorous country in an international pageant. Certainly and I bet she would do very very well.
And she just turned 20 on June 6. Belated happy birthday, Trina!
Are you ready for the Filipina superpowers in this year’s Miss Supranational? By that, it means not just two but three Filipinas competing in Miss Supranational.
Our Mutya Johanna Datul, crowned 2013 Bb. Pilipinas Supranational is our official Philippine delegate. Competing with her are also two Pinays who in fact were Bb. Pilipinas alumnae but now Miss Norway Marie Molo Peter (2012 Bb. Pilipinas candidate) and Miss Canada Suzette Aquino Hernandez (2011 Bb. Pilipinas candidate). See these three stunningly beautiful Pinays in 2013 Miss Supranational. The pageant’s finals is scheduled on September 6 in the Eastern European country of Belarus. Go ladies!
Photo grabbed elsewhere online.
Johanna Cindy Miranda 23, 5’7” from Rizal, Nueva Ecija has already been a household name to many of us even before her Bb Pilipinas quest as has already been in the glitzy world of showbiz being part of the game show “Will Time Big Time” and a former PBB Unlimited Housemate.
Belonging to Team Aces and Queens camp, this UST BS Tourism cum laude graduate won this year’s Bb Pilipinas Tourism crown in the pageant’s golden anniversary. Aside from the title she was also awarded Miss Cream Silk Beyond Beautiful Woman and Bb. Petron.
In the Bb Pilipinas GOLD Q & A she was asked what is the personal quality that most people remember about her. Cindy said she would describe herself as “unstoppable” She said everything she wanted in life she did it even if she did not have any permission from her parents, friends, or people around her as long as what she’d do she knew would be good for her. She added at the end of the day she would believe everyone around her would be proud of her.
Can be considered a pageant veteran, Cindy has participated and won in several pageants in the past such as Miss Teen Philippines Region 1, Miss Philippines Earth Baguio, Miss Tourism Ambassador. Some unconfirmed reports have them that Cindy will compete at the 2013 Miss Tourism Queen, the venue and date of which are still on TBA status or could be at 2014 Miss United Continent in beautiful Ecuador. As it’s said, let us wait and see.
Attended the mock pageant of Aces and Queens and she is one stunner hard to ignore. She has always been confident and competent from the very start with the way she protected on stage, etc. Had the chance to converse with her in the Bb Pilipinas Talent night dinner and yes she is one fine woman and at that she is truly likable. In the press presentation at Makati Shang, she was a clear standout especially with the way she carried her Filipiniana. Her videos would attest to such a claim. Knew she could actually win right then and there.
Today is Cindy’s homecoming to her province. As expected she was warmly welcomed by her kababayans.
Congratulations, Cindy! Whether it is Miss Tourism International or Miss United Continent, bring home a crown for your pageant loving country!
2013 Bb Pilipinas International Bea Rose Santiago
Born in the Philippines, Bea Rose Santiago, belonging to team KF or Kagandahang Flores, 22, 5’9″, from Masbate is now Bb Pilipinas International. She will be our country’s official delegate in this year’s Miss International pageant, its 53rd edition to be held possibly in Chengdu, China in a date to be announced very soon.
Bea studied Communication majoring in Public Relations at York University in Toronto, Canada. She’s also modeled professionally for agencies like Ford, Elite, etc. Being in the pageant world is not new to Bea as she was in fact crowned 2011 Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Filipino, represented our country very well and became a finalist in the Miss Tourism International 2012 held in China.
In last year’s Miss International pageant held at Okinawa, Japan on October 21, 2012, the Philippine representative Nicole Schmitz made it to the top 15. This will Bea Rose Santiago win the country’s fifth Miss International crown?
In this year’s most prestigious and celebrated Bb Pilipinas GOLD, Bea’s made good impressions to pageant aficionados from the very start of the pageant. She’s been talked about. Quite obviously she is such a real looker, has great stage presence, statuesque, witty and many say one of the nicest candidates of the batch. True enough she emerged victorious, and her winning did not come as a surprise.
Congratulations and good luck, Bea!
