With our new #MissWorld #MWP2013 #MissPhilippines Megan Young, we surely can!
The Miss World crown is yet to be won by the Philippines. From her very first entry in 1966 to date, the closest ever achieved almost there so to speak were the first runners up placements of Evangeline Pascual in 1973 and Gwen Ruias in 2011. Movie celebrity Ruffa Gutierrez placed 2nd runner up in 1993.
Aside from the most coveted and awaited crown itself, starting in the 1980’s continental beauties were also awarded in the Miss World pageant. The Philippines won five times
as Asia/Asia & Oceania’s Queen of Beauty in 1982 (Sara Jane Areza), 1986 (Sherry Rose Byrne), 1993 (Ruffa Guttierez) 2004 (Karla Bautista) and 2011 (Gwen Ruais).
Pretty sure in this lifetime we’d like to witness a Filipina finally crowned Miss World, right? Will 2013 be the year of our crowning glory?
Hope this year’s Miss World Philippines is a stunning beauty who shall embody what Miss…

“The past year has been entirely incredible. I already felt blessed when I was crowned Miss Universe Philippines last April. But then I had to wait for 7 more months before I could actually compete. Instead of being impatient, I regard it as an opportunity to hone my qualities to endless personality development sessions, and improve my mindset; workout with increased fervor and at the same time strengthen my fighting spirit. I am glad I did all that because I was able to make my countrymen proud.
Winning so close to the Miss Universe crown is a humbling experience. It made me realize that one can do so much for others by being the best one can be. I also relish the times we had with operation smiles and other charitable activities. I treasure the friends I have made along the way. I am grateful to those who rooted for…

Are you ready for the Filipina superpowers in this year’s Miss Supranational? By that, it means not just two but three Filipinas competing in Miss Supranational.
Our Mutya Johanna Datul, crowned 2013 Bb. Pilipinas Supranational is our official Philippine delegate. Competing with her are also two Pinays who in fact were Bb. Pilipinas alumnae but now Miss Norway Marie Molo Peter (2012 Bb. Pilipinas candidate) and Miss Canada Suzette Aquino Hernandez (2011 Bb. Pilipinas candidate). See these three stunningly beautiful Pinays in 2013 Miss Supranational. The pageant’s finals is scheduled on September 6 in the Eastern European country of Belarus. Go ladies!

A heavy favorite from the very start, Filipina-American Megan Lynne Young, famous actress, 23, won this year’s Miss World Philippines title in last night’s pageant at Solaire Resort and Casino, Pasay City.
In the pageant’s 64th edition, Megan earned the right to represent the Philippines in the 2013 Miss World pageant to be held in Indonesia come September 28.
With the stiff competition, Megan bested 24 other candidates including pageant veterans and favorites First Princess – Janicel Lubina
Second Princess – Zahra Saldua, Third Princess – Bianca Paz and Fourth Princess – Omarie Linn Osuna.
Megan belongs to Team Aces and Queens, the country’s most famous and successful beauty pageant camp. It’s the same team which successfully handled last year’s Miss World Philippines Queenie Rehman, recent Miss Universe runners up Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon, etc.
Miss World Philippines 2013, is the 3rd edition of CQGQI’s (Cory Quirino Global Quest, Inc.). Wishfully, the Philippines will finally win her very first Miss World crown this year.
Congratulations and good luck, Megan!

How time flies fleetingly, indeed.
The international pageants are taking their place and such excite the pageant aficionados. The very first Bb Pilipinas Gold queen shall take her her turn in the international pageant limelight very soon.
Tomorrow our bet to the 2013 Miss Supranational Mutya Johanna Datul will have her official BPCI send off to the international pageant.
Prior to Bb Pilipinas Gold, Mutya Datul has participated in several pageants such as the 2011 Miss Isabela Tourism where she won and 2012 Mutya ng Pilipinas where she ended as a semifinalist.
Mutya has just earned the right to compete in Miss Supranational pageant now on its fifth edition. The international pageant will be hosted by the Eastern European country of Belarus scheduled on September 6, 2013.
Just last year, the Philippines placed third runner up by the success of Elaine Kay Moll, 2012 Bb Pilipinas First runner who was handpicked by BPCI to represent the country in the 2012 Miss Supranational quest.
With that said, good luck to you Mutya! Clinch that title! We will pray for you!
Yes we’re yet to glimpse more of them strut on the stage, articulate their thoughts, project their striking assets, etc but so far to what’s been seen, the real stand out in this year’s Miss World Philippines are
MerceGrace Raquel, 19, 5’10”, UP graduate, Laguna, 2013 Bb Pilipinas candidate;
Megan Young, 23, 5’7’, Olongapo City, and a famed celebrity;
Patricia Ejercitado, 24, Cainta Rizal, 5’7”, UST graduate, a licensed Interior designer, and a semifinalist in 2012 Bb Pilipinas.
Do you concur? Who are your bets?
